Softease
Podium is the main project at the moment that I am involved with. It is a piece of software which will take the techiness out of podcasting and allow users to concentrate on the quality of what they are recording rather than the technical aspects of making a podcast.
Designed to support initiatives in creating ownership of audible published materials it takes the concept of publication and the literacy of publication into a new sphere.
There are many innovations in this software but the most outstanding is the ‘script writer’ tool which allows for the change of genre of written and developed texts into broadcast materials and supports the rehearsal and final production of the recording.
See http://www.podiumpodcasting.com for more details.
The ‘Inspiration Twilights’ continue to have an exceptional place in the In-service Education programmes of many LAs and schools around the country and indeed, around the World. These sessions are not technical sessions but are designed to inspire and to enhance ideas already in development.
Over the couple of years Softease has been travelling the length and breadth of the country giving twilight seminars to teachers, ICT Coordinators and learning support staff in an effort to help them understand how all the educational software tools in the Textease range can be used to cover the QCA scheme of work for ICT and beyond.
These seminars offer an informal opportunity to see the software in action and allow the chance to ask questions about the delivery of ICT across the primary curriculum. Twilight seminars are absolutely FREE and can be held either in a school or at an LEA centre. Things people have said after attending one of our twilight seminars:
