Help is at hand ...

Over the last couple of weeks I have noticed that the number of web sites/blogs etc to help and support teachers seems to have grown sort of exponentially...or is it me that just finds them?

Three that have caught my eye specifically are:

TeachToday

escholarteacher

School leader

Each has its own flavour and each gives lots of information ... of the three I think that 'teachtoday' looks most interesting but I intend to keep my eye on all of them ... just to make sure that I don't miss anything. Problem is that my feeds grow daily and expand across the world. The question is how much information can one person take in and how do you sift for relevance without missing that, tucked-away important idea.

Listen to the whispers !!

I have had a look at all 3 sites - there are a growing number. I am involved in the escholarteacher project and it is slightly different from the other two in that it is truely web 2.0 and will evolve in different directions and is not actually 'in competition' with the other two sites, in fact would embrace partnerships with these others. The aim of escholarteacher is to bring these divergent sites and organisations together in a way that teachers can pick and choose and manage from a central point. I am especially interested in helping teachers maintain their contacts (social & professional) as they move throughout their career and breaking down boundaries. I am not sure if you have had a look, but I would always appreciate feedback. ps the network is starting to grow fairly quickly now, it has increased nearly 50% in the past two weeks (only 11 weeks old).
