BBC creates fantasy island for kids
I missed this at first ... would prefer that children get outside in the fresh air and run around. Has anyone any more information on this please?

About Me
I talk to senior management teams, teachers, students, advisors, software producers and publishers passionately about the use of ICT to enhance teaching and learning. I demonstrate, build, exhort, joke, anecdote and cajole but in the end insist that children have the right to the best and that technology can and should make a significant difference to how they live and how they learn. Today for them is not a rehearsal it is an entire entity in its own right and we as educators have the power to make it special.

Yes, children should be out there walking, running, jumping, meeting people and growing up safely and healthily. But the 21st century has a technological dimension, electronic communications, a medium with huge possibilities for good use and misuse which children also have access to. Perhaps ‘Aunty BBC’s’ online island may be just the place to join in occasionally to understand how to be safe in the virtual world.
